Gunvor Engström has expressed interest in contributing to our work in developing enterprise, entrepreneurship, and local growth in municipalities and regions. With a unique combination of experience from the private sector, public sector, international trade, and business ownership, she brings a strategic perspective that few can match.
Throughout her long and successful career, Gunvor has held several leading positions within Swedish business and public administration. She has been responsible for entrepreneurship issues at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) and CEO of the Swedish Federation of Business Owners (Företagarna), where she worked to strengthen the business climate and create better conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises across the country.
Her experience also includes international affairs through her role as a trade negotiator at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as head of the business policy unit at the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. These assignments have given her a deep understanding of the interplay between politics, business, and economic development – both nationally and internationally.
In addition to her leadership roles in the public sector, Gunvor has also been an entrepreneur herself and has held numerous board assignments over the years in both private and public organizations. She therefore has a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges that companies face at various stages of development. Gunvor has also served in Blekinge County, where she worked with regional development, collaboration between business and the public sector, and issues related to growth, innovation, and sustainable community development.
Today, she works as a mentor and advisor for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations. Through her commitment, she contributes knowledge, experience, and strategic support to organizations that want to grow, develop, and create long-term value.
